PLB Q&A with Brody Coleman

Cazenovia Central (N.Y.) Midfielder – Recently Committed to Yale University

Thank you to my parents who spent their time and money on me to have the ability to better myself as a player. Thank you to my coaches as they’ve taught me everything I know today. Thank you to my friends for being so supportive and motivating.

PEACE LACROSSE BLOG: What made you choose this school?

BRODY COLEMAN: Yale is the best of both worlds. A top 5 lacrosse program with incredible coaches. Along with a world class education. The culture at Yale is different from any other school, nobody practices, plays, or trains harder. I’m so excited to be a part of it!

PLB: How has the COVID-19 Pandemic affected you?

BC: It made me focus more on bettering myself. I trained, and lifted weights as much as I could. I also tried to focus on the weak points of my game and better them.

PLB: How would you describe your recruiting process?

BC: I went into the process in no hurry to make a decision. I was fortunate to have a bunch of schools teach out to me on September 1st, and as the week went on I realized this process was going to be quicker than I had imagined. When I was eventually offered by Yale was easy to make my decision as I knew it was the best fit for me.

PLB: What kind of stick do you play with?

BC: ECD Rebel with Heromesh on a Mission Blank shaft from Maverik. Mid-low pocket with a tight channel and one shooter. I typically use a black out stick but just recently have been mixing in a white head on a silver shaft.

PLB: Favorite Quotes that You Live By?

“Either define the moment or the moment will define you.”

PLB: What do you do for fun?

BC: Spend time with my friends. They were at my house nearly every day over the Summer. We all have a common interest in sports so we’re usually doing something active.

PLB: What do you want to be when you grow up? And Why?

BC: I’d love to coach lacrosse at some point. But as a profession something in finance as it’s what my siblings studied.

PLB: Once Coronavirus is over where would you like to visit?

BC: France and Italy. I’d like to see the Louvre, the Sistine Chapel, things like that.
