Adjusting to the new normal at Summer Lax events

The summer lacrosse season officially got underway this weekend with events all over the country. For many, this was the first time for the players to play and spectators to watch an actual game in over three months.

Many years from now we will hopefully look back at 2020 as the year the COVID-19 pandemic changed how we live our lives outside of our homes. But it it definitely taught us to appreciate and not take the game of lacrosse for granted.

COVID-19 shut everything down this past spring, leaving high school seniors without a final spring season of their careers.

The Coronavirus is still here and cases continue to rise. But US Lacrosse has given the greenlight for events to happen this summer while maintaining social distancing and other precautions.

Here’s the Return to Play recommendations outlined by US Lacrosse

Peace Lacrosse received some feedback from people that attended events this past weekend. Here is what they had to say.

It will definitely be something to continue to watch and monitor throughout the Summer. Especially, handshake lines after games and celebrations after goals.

We stress to our readers that attend events this summer to enjoy the game but also remember to maintain social distance and wear a face mask.
