Summer lacrosse season is officially here! Every year The start of the recruiting circuit kicks off with the Baltimore Summer Kickoff.
The event is held at two locations during the first three weekends of the month of June, Goucher College and Loyola Blakefield high school.
Here are the players who stood out during the two days for Session I.
Colin McGill, Attack, Rising Sons, 2020,
PRLB Review: McGill does a nice job moving without the ball and creating separation to get open for the outlet pass from a teammate. Impressive shot on cage. Was named to the BSK All Star game.
Aidan Tolen, Attack, DeMatha, 2020
PRLB Review: Tolen can play well behind cage and in front. Moves the ball. Love his Lax I.Q. an communication skills. Always has his head up and alert. Hustles on the ride and was also selected to the All-Star game.
Grant McCurry, Mid-Field, Burning River, 2020
PRLB Review: According to McCurry’s Instagram page, he’s committed to University of Michigan, which explains why he has a Division I Level type of skill-set. McCurry is smooth and has good footwork. Not flashy. Just gets the job done on offense with some excellent shots on cage resulting in goals. And he gets back and plays good defense.
Mitchell Jacobs, Long-Stick Mid-Field, True Maryland, 2021
PRLB Review: Jacobs is athletic with pretty good Lax I.Q. which is always a good combo. Fun player to watch play the game. Works hard at getting the ground ball and creates turnovers. Jacobs was one of few 2021’s who made the All-Star game. Mitchell should receive some D1 interest come September 1.
Eli Harrison, Goalie, Blackwolf, 2020
PRLB Review: Harrison is a good talker. Clears the ball well. And moves well around the crease area and made some big saves in the All-Star game.
Noah Beecher, Attack, Lax World, 2020
PRLB Review: The 2020 class has a ton of talent all over the country. Really looking forward to seeing how this class does at the next level. Beecher was not hard to miss with his bright orange helmet. The rising senior has nifty dodges and muscled his way through pressure to score an amazing goal against Lax Worlds game against Burning River on Sunday.
Andrew Tziarris-Over, Defense, Team Turnpike, 2020
Andrew Tziarris-Over No. 37
PRLB Review: Tziarris-Over was all over the field making plays. Impressive stick-work. Love his size. Made a good clear up field which helped result in a goal for his team. Also made some great checks.
Bryce Walker, Attack, Iron Horse Austin (TX), 2020
PRLB Review: If you’re from Texas and your last name is Walker you have to be legit at everything you do. Bryce Walker is very good. An absolute stud. With great quick hands, legit Lax I.Q., and a good leader. Keep an eye on this kid this summer.
Miles Mcilvaine, Mid-Field, Burning River, 2020
PRLB Review: Impressed with the skills from Mcilvaine. The rising senior has a laser shot on cage. Makes smart decisions with the ball. Never seems to panic. Has the potential to be a D1 Level talent.
Sean Barwick, Defense, FCA, 2020
PRLB Review: Barwick had an amazing junior year for MIAA champs Calvert Hall. And the defender is off to a great start to the summer circuit. In the All-Star game Barwick made some impressive plays. Including causing a turnover and getting a ground ball from one of his Calvert Hall teammates who was on the other team. Barwick is another player to watch this summer.
