Charessa Crosse’s toughness and leadership won me over as a fan of the Friends junior star…

Claressa Crosse

When Charessa Crosse came out of the game because her leg was cramping up, it seemed like that the junior was done and wouldn’t return.

Crosse already had a huge night by scoring four goals to help her team win a crucial game against Indian Creek, 13–10.

But the star junior midfielder for the Friends girls lacrosse team got some treatment from the training staff and was back on her feet and back in the game.

This really won me over and I became an instant fan of Crosse’s. Friends did have the lead against Indian Creek and the Quakers got a lift from Tess Baroody, who managed to put Indian Creek away with four goals of her own to give Friends the victory at the US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.

But Charessa showed her coaches and team that she still wanted to help and clinch the victory because Indian Creek was not laying down and did have an early lead on the Quakers.

The Temple University commit got back in and instantly won a draw control and was hustling all over the field.

Crosse was huge for the Quakers comeback in the first half. Playing solid defense and controlling the possession game by getting the ground balls and winning draws.

The road to the IAAM “B” conference championship game continues to heat up. Mercy, Park, St. John’s Prep and Friends are in the thick of it and will be fighting for a chance to play in mid May again at the US Lacrosse headquarters.

Crosse said afterwards that Friends will be back here for one more game.

Here’s the entire video Postgame interview with Crosse.

Crosse is an impressive player and someone who should be definitely considered for All-County and Conference teams at the end of the season.
