.@DallasOneLove Tournament will be on May 21st at Greenhill HS (TX)! #onelove

Over 175 students from 12 high schools will be playing lacrosse with girls’ rules and equipment in boy versus girl single elimination match ups on May 21 from 1:00 — 4:00 pm at the Greenhill School. Students are coming together for fun and to spread awareness about the difference between healthy and unhealthy relationships.

Yeardley Love, a senior at the University of Virginia, died as a victim of relationship abuse. 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men will experience relationship violence in their lifetime. HP girls’ and boys’ lacrosse teams are coming together to change these statistics.

Founded in 2010 to honor the memory of Yeardley Love, One Love works with young people across the country to raise awareness about the warning signs of abuse and activate communities to work to change the statistics around relationship violence.

57% of young adults report it is difficult to identify dating violence. #ThatsNotLove defines the gray area between love and control, so you know relationship abuse when it happens and before it escalates. The foundation’s “Escalation” Workshop starts with a film which launches a guided discussion about relationship violence. With the One Love “My Plan” app, users can answer questions to assess the risks and dangers of their current relationship, and also can be used as a decision aid for friends and family who are concerned for a loved one, providing 24/7 access to trained advocate support.

We all win if we spread One Love’s message in our community!
