We are about to embark on another high school lacrosse season here in the Baltimore metro.
Preseason practices have begun and teams are preparing for their out-of-conference schedule of games which will dominate the month.
There are some exciting storylines and players we will highlight throughout the season. We will preview every team in the MIAA/IAAM and Public Schools and see who is returning, who they’ll play out of conference, what the outlook for the season will be for each team.
One storyline to monitor will be whether or not Bryan Kelly and his Calvert Hall Cardinals can repeat and run the table again in the MIAA-A conference.
Calvert Hall is coming off a championship season where the Cardinals did not lose a game in one of the toughest conferences in High School lacrosse.
Even though Calvert Hall lost some key pieces to their championship run to graduation, (in particular Michael Autry at faceoff and Brendan Curry, JT Bugliosi on offense), the Cardinals should not miss a beat as they’re returning a solid group. And are very well coached.

“I think we have a strong group returning. Key for us is staying Healthy and our improvement at the FaceOff X.
The key for us is that each kid keeps getting better everyday and stays focus. (The) kids are working hard!!!” Bryan Kelly

The Cardinals will be playing with a little extra motivation this season as they will be playing for Coach Dave Huntley, who passed away during the offseason.
Huntley wasn’t just a coach for the Calvert Hall lacrosse team, he was a mentor for the boys and someone who believed in them and the mission of the program.
