Perry Hall freshman goaltender, Colin Kurcoba is this week’s Goalie of the Week after making 21 saves in the Gators win over Catonsville.
The Gators beat the Comets on 4/5, 8–6.
“Colin was put into a tough situation being a freshman goalie for the varsity squad, especially on a team which lost eight seniors who all contributed in a big way in 2016,” said Perry Hall coach Phil Rossetti. “Despite his age, he accepted the challenge from day one. The work he put in during the off-season as well as the work he puts in every day at practice has been nothing short of impressive. Although only a freshman, he challenges not only himself every day, but challenges his teammates daily as well. He is a natural leader and is one of the hardest working student athletes I have ever coached. He is always putting in the extra work and it is clearly paying off.”
“Colin Never gets rattled and is always ready to make the next play. Expects alot of himself but never gets down on himself.”
Kurcoba is also an avid golfer and is on the Perry Hall varsity golf team.
The Gators are 3–4 currently and will play MIAA-B conference powerhouse Archbishop Curley on Wednesday at 7pm at Homewood Field on the campus of Johns Hopkins University.
